I am flesh
and chemicals

Send me reeling, man-boy
there's hundreds like me

playmeplaymeplaymeplayme
set me off like a pinball machine

Biology gave you all the
right phrases

I am made to react to you,
since you are flesh too.

But you get to choose.

this is very modern, and I like it, I am not normally a fan of much of the modern poetry, so a pleasant surprise for me, thank you. Smile

Oh thanks. Smile What do you mean by modern, is it poetry that doesn't attempt to rhyme?

For example Alfred Noyes The Highwayman, or William Butler Yeats and so forth. This would be the genre that I much prefer. It's more of a fantasy idealistic notion of things which is just me down to the ground.

this is an excellent site you can check out, it has a list at the side showing contemporary, early-modern poetry and
Traditional. you can compare the different styles and see what I am talking about. I prefer more of the Traditional poetry genre and the early-modern. www (followed by) .poemtree. (with a) com haha can't link it for 7 days, copy and paste is your friend!

You know, I can't remember the last time I read the word "chemicals" in a poem. I liked it though, the flesh and chemicals, 'twas blunt. Didn't understand "Biology gave you all the
right phrases"... I can only wish biology gave me all the right phrases. Biology gave me visible nervousness and a stutter when presented with the opposite sex... this poem is written to a non-INFP I imagine? Razz
