The Space Between Things

"The Space Between Things"

Here, the hand is held
in the space surrounding
The eye lied, it told you nothing was there.
And words filled up the space.

There's space there.
Space between the words,
space between space.

The eye of the mind
In the "space between things".

There is a resultant hum
of energy
I can scoop together my hands
and gather goldfish in the air
the space is alive
and golden
in-between finger-tips
communicating with our finger-tips
the universe breathes.

Just did this for extra credit in my lit class. Figured I'd post it.

I like the line "the eye lied, it told you nothing was there." Look at how you contrast that with "The eye of the mind/Rejoices/In 'the space between things.'" How could you develop that idea of contrasting your physical vs. mental perception.

I like the last two lines. They remind me of what little I've read about quantum physics.
