Personally...

I've been reading "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield, which I would recommend to anyone wanting to pursue anything of a creative nature.
Also just beginning "A Game of Thrones" by George R.R. Martin and "Under the Dome" by King. Both going very well so far.
And, last but not least, "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" by Brain Selznick and Harry Potter book 6 by Everyone Knows (way behind the times on that one...)

Everyone is telling me to read Game of Thrones because I like the show. How's the series so far?

going great so far. very eloquently written, like in a high-fantasy style. ^_^
